Vector Solutions is seeking a Corporate Development Intern to support Vector’s M&A ambitions across its end-markets of Public Safety, Education and Commercial. As a Corporate Development Intern, you will work closely alongside Vector’s EVP of Corporate Development to identify, analyze and target potential M&A targets of interest and support transactions. This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset, financial modeling skills and an interest in technology and SaaS business models.
What You'll Do:
- Develop an understanding of Vector’s M&A objectives and perform research to identify companies that could potentially address these objectives.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis / market maps to develop lists of potential M&A targets for consideration that are aligned to one or more key M&A objectives.
- Perform further research to analyze the companies and assess / crystallize an investment thesis for Vector for each, distilling insights and analysis into summaries for executive leadership consideration.
- Support financial modeling and valuation efforts for targets of interest.
- Collaborate as necessary with other functional teams (e.g. Sector leadership, Finance, Product, Sales/Customer Experience etc.) in course of target evaluations.
- Work with Vector’s trusted outside advisors as necessary in support of our M&A ambitions.
Requirements
- Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (including familiarity with Excel and rest of MS Office suite).
- Self-motivated individual with a strong ability to drive results and effectively support a remote work environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for the Vector mission and for corporate strategy.
- Hybrid role that will require 2-3 days in our New York Office.
