The Account Director – Strategic Accounts is a high-impact, strategic seller responsible for leading the growth, relationship, and overall account strategy for one of Genesys’ most critical and high-profile clients. This role is dedicated exclusively to a single, enterprise-scale customer and will act as the strategic advisor and trusted partner to drive long-term value, innovation, and business transformation through Genesys solutions.
As a consultative and solutions-focused executive, the Account Director will align deeply with the customer’s goals, industry challenges, and digital transformation initiatives. This role requires a strong executive presence, the ability to navigate complex buying environments, and a passion for delivering measurable customer outcomes.
Note: This role requires a strong on-site presence, with approximately 75% of time spent working directly at the customer’s offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the end-to-end sales strategy and execution for a single, highly strategic account.
- Act as the primary point of contact and strategic advisor for all aspects of the Genesys-customer relationship.
- Develop and execute a multi-year account plan aligned with the customer’s business objectives and transformation goals.
- Cultivate trusted relationships with senior executives and key stakeholders across business and IT.
- Establish and nurture strategic alignment with ecosystem partners, including technology and consulting partners, to maximize value delivery to the customer.
- Collaborate cross-functionally within Genesys to bring tailored solutions, thought leadership, and innovation to the customer.
- Lead high-impact workshops and executive briefings to align business outcomes with Genesys offerings.
- Forecast and deliver against quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the customer’s industry, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Drive growth through expansion, renewal, and strategic partnership initiatives.
- Champion customer feedback and ensure long-term satisfaction and advocacy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA); advanced degrees a plus.
- 7+ years of enterprise sales experience with a proven track record in strategic account management.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles within Fortune 500 or equivalent-scale organizations.
- Background in SaaS, cloud platforms, or enterprise software solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain executive relationships.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to engage with and align strategic partners as part of a co-selling or value-delivery strategy.
- Willingness and ability to be on-site with the customer ~75% of the time.

- Deep understanding of enterprise IT ecosystems and business operations.
- Familiarity with customer experience, contact center, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience aligning technology solutions with measurable business outcomes.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with internal teams (pre-sales, services, product).
- Proven success in driving long-term account growth and customer satisfaction.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with multiple stakeholder groups.
Compensation:
This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.
$123,700.00 - $229,700.00
