What's the opportunity?
We are seeking a Senior Director of FP&A to lead our Corporate and Strategic Finance team. In this role, you will be a critical partner to senior leadership, driving financial strategy and decision-making to support Intercom's rapid growth and ambitious goals. You will own the company’s financial planning processes, provide insightful analysis, and play a key role in shaping our long-term strategic narrative.
What will I be doing?
- Lead the Corporate and Strategic FP&A teams, driving all planning processes and strategic investment decision analysis.
- Partner closely with executive leadership, including the CFO, CEO, and other senior stakeholders, to drive financial strategy and decision-making.
- Own the financial long-range planning (LRP) and annual budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with the overall company strategy.
- Lead the quarterly financial income statement and cash flow forecast processes, resulting in added visibility and a clear understanding of business trends.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for the executive team and Board of Directors.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and summarize findings clearly for executive leadership.
- Partner with Finance Analytics, Business Technology (IT), and Data & Insights on systems/tools roadmaps, process improvements, and automation opportunities.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, focusing on coaching, managing for performance, and career development.
- Own internal messaging on revenue and company performance.
- Communicate the Intercom financial strategy and priorities to all audiences, including the Board, C-suite, and executive leadership team.
What skills do I need?
- 15+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions overseeing corporate and/or revenue finance teams.
- Deep experience in public company SaaS/software, with a command of the SaaS industry and related metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related Business field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to simplify the complex, drive decisions, and adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills.
- Proven track record of building and developing high-performing distributed teams.
- Experience providing thought leadership and leading presentations to the executive team.
- Strong understanding of planning systems (e.g. Pigment) and related critical systems (ERP, HCM).
Bonus skills & attributes
- Experience taking a company public.
- Experience with Snowflake or similar Data Warehouse.
- RevOps, Sales Ops, or Marketing Ops Experience.

The base salary range for candidates within the San Francisco Bay Area is $294,150 - $341,850. Actual base pay will depend on a variety of factors such as education, skills, experience, location, etc. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All regular employees may also be eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
