We are currently looking for a new band member to join the Spotify Tax Team. This new band member will be an Analyst, joining the Global Indirect Tax Team. This position will report into the Manager for Indirect Tax Compliance and will be based in Stockholm, Sweden.
In your role, you will focus on compliance and reporting. Spotify reports indirect taxes in more than 90 countries globally and you will be a key member of the team responsible for ensuring the completeness, timeliness and accuracy of Spotify’s global indirect tax compliance obligations. You will work in close collaboration with global tax team members in both Stockholm and New York, and work cross functionally with various accounting and finance teams.

What You'll Do- Prepare indirect tax returns ensuring they are filed timely and accurate.
- Calculate indirect tax payments and ensure timely payments.
- Analyze data and transactions to ensure correct reporting.
- Assist with gathering and analyzing data for indirect tax audits and internal audits.
- Support in monitoring Indirect Tax rules and regulations in countries where Spotify is conducting its business.
- Coordinate with, and support, Finance and Accounting teams as necessary and assist in processes that involve indirect tax.
- Assist with new tax registrations where needed.
- Work with external service providers and foreign tax authorities.
- Assist in other tax compliance areas such as digital services tax.
- Other projects as required.
Who You Are- University degree with relevant education such as law degree, accounting, CPA, or any combination thereof.
- Up to 2+ years of tax related work experience.
- Experience from indirect tax compliance work on a global scale is a big plus.
- Excellent English skills, both verbally and written. Other language skills are helpful.
- Experience with financial systems (we use NetSuite): ERPs, consolidation tools and management reporting tools.
- Strong skills in the Google suite and/or Microsoft Office including the ability to prepare robust models and the ability and desire to learn new software platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to drive work and assist with process improvements.
- Self-starter, capable of working independently with strong initiative and flexibility.
- Intellectually curious, detail oriented, and eager to learn and develop every day.
- Able to work in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment.
- High level of energy and enthusiasm to work in a fast moving business.
Where You'll Be - This role is based in Stockholm, Sweden.
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come to the office 3 to 4 times a week.
