Role Overview
At Harvey, we believe the developer experience is a product in itself — one that multiplies engineering impact and enables our entire engineering team to move fast, ship safely, and focus on what matters. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Developer Experience (DevXP) team. This team owns internal tooling, release automation, and developer workflows. You’ll be responsible for creating the systems that help every engineer at Harvey do their best work, and will collaborate closely with Infra, Product, and Security to ensure quality and velocity go hand in hand.
At Harvey, we value Decisiveness, Simplicity, and the mindset that Job's Not Finished. We move fast, prioritize clarity, and are always striving for excellence. If this resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
Manage and grow the DevXP team, focused on developer productivity, tooling, and release management.
Own and evolve our CI/CD pipelines, internal tooling, and testing infrastructure.
Build systems that improve developer ergonomics: from local dev environments to observability and deployment workflows.
Collaborate cross-functionally to reduce friction across the software development lifecycle.
Lead initiatives around release reliability, incident management, and automation of manual workflows.
Define and promote best practices in tooling, testing, and developer experience across the org.
What You Have
2+ years of engineering management experience and 5+ years of software or DevOps engineering experience.
Strong background in CI/CD systems (e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI), release processes, and developer tooling.
Experience improving internal systems that accelerate developer productivity.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, observability tools (e.g. Datadog, Sentry), and incident response tooling.
Strong programming skills (e.g. Python, Bash, Go) and experience automating developer workflows.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a bias toward action and clarity.
A passion for building great internal systems that make other engineers better.
Compensation Range
$250,000 - 300,000 USD
