We're looking for foundational hires who understand how to win in this environment and want to build something transformative from the ground up.
Position Overview
Fieldbook is hiring a Director of Sales – Retail Services to lead customer acquisition and revenue growth for this new business unit. This individual will leverage existing relationships with supplier clients—especially those selling to Walmart and Sam’s Club—to drive early traction and long-term growth.
You’ll be one of the first team members building this line of business and will play a critical role in shaping our go-to-market strategy, client mix, and service offerings. Ideal candidates are well-connected in the Bentonville supplier community, understand both the strategic and tactical aspects of sales at Walmart/Sam’s, and have a track record of delivering value through client services.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the business development strategy for the Walmart/Sam’s Club client base
- Bring in new clients within your network who are in need of sales support or strategic services
- Close business within the first 90–120 days to drive early revenue
- Work collaboratively with Fieldbook operators and retail experts to define service offerings tailored to client needs
- Lead the development of sales materials, proposals, and presentations backed by data and shopper insights
- Represent the business in client meetings, industry events, and partner conversations
- Support early client onboarding and ensure high-quality service delivery and account success
- Report on pipeline progress, revenue goals, and client satisfaction metrics
- 10+ years of experience in sales, retail services, or business development in the CPG/retail industry
- Minimum 2 years working directly with Walmart or Sam’s Club as a supplier, broker, or consultant
- Existing network of brand and supplier relationships with immediate business development potential
- Deep understanding of Walmart/Sam’s Club merchandising structures, tools, and performance expectation.
- Demonstrated success in closing deals and growing client revenue in a service-oriented role
- Strong storytelling, strategic communication, and retail knowledge
- Comfortable in early-stage, fast-moving environments with high autonomy
- Bentonville-based or strong ties to the supplier ecosystem in Northwest Arkansas preferred
