About the Role
The Dental Coordinator will manage the GoMo Chat platform for our oral health integration programs for maternal child health and diabetes. The Dental Coordinator will provide guidance and resources via the GoMo Chat platform to help health plan members find a dentist and address any severe oral health problems they may be experiencing, as well as address questions they may have about their oral health. Training on the GoMo Chat platform and health plan dental coverage and resources will be provided. As program participant engagement is tracked, collected, and aggregated, the Dental Coordinator will work with the Program Manager on analysis of data and recommendations to client. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, comfort with digital care management systems/telehealth, and the ability to work collaboratively with the GoMo Health team.
Responsibilities
The coordinator must be able to provide support and guidance in the following areas:
- Maternal Child Health: Education on the importance of receiving dental care during pregnancy and postpartum, and literacy on dental and oral health for their child.
- Diabetes: Education on the connection between oral health and diabetes, and why good oral care is important for managing diabetes.
- Finding a Dentist: Provide resources for health plan members to find a dentist in their area. Members may also need assistance using their health plan’s online tools to find resources for transportation to appointments and navigate dental coverage for themselves and their children.
- Oral Health Problems: Address any severe oral health problems reported by members and provide guidance on at-home oral care and/or assess if professional dental care is needed.
To be able to provide effective support to members, this person must be knowledgeable in the following areas:
- Oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Oral-systemic health concerns and connections in the areas of diabetes and maternal-child health
- Dental conditions and procedures
- Dental claims and verifying patient coverage
- Navigating dental insurance coverage under Medicaid plans education on the importance of receiving dental care during pregnancy and postpartum, and literacy on dental and oral health for their child.
Requirements
Education:
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist
- Degree in Dental Hygiene and/or Dental Therapy from an accredited institution
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a dental office preferred.
- Proficient in quickly adapting to and mastering new interactive software platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Additional Details
- Estimated time commitment: 5-10 hrs/wk
- Rate: $30/hr based on submitted hours worked
- Remote role
- Independent Contractor role, 1099 position
- Due to data security requirements, a company laptop will be provided
- Must be available for onscreen video for all internal and external meetings
Physical Demand:
- This is a sedentary, office-based position requiring prolonged periods of sitting and extensive use of a computer. Frequent typing, data entry, phone use, and reading are expected. Employees are encouraged to take periodic breaks to reduce physical strain and maintain focus, in accordance with company policy and applicable labor laws.
While our company is headquartered in Asbury Park, New Jersey, remote candidates throughout the US will be considered.
