How you’ll make an impact
As a Data Enablement Lead, you’ll be responsible for delivering quality outcomes today and for supporting the team to create more effective and sustainable ways to deliver outcomes in future. In this role you will get to be hands-on, diving in and working with the team but also be strategically focussed, thinking about what can be done to address future opportunities and challenges.
As a Lead in the team you’ll be responsible for mentoring other enablement analysts, not just in their technical ability but in their soft skills. You’ll be the contact point for some of our key stakeholders, working to understand their needs and requirements whilst continuously educating them and helping them be more self-sufficient.

What you’ll do- Support the evolution of the Data Enablement Team as they expand their focus to include lifting the levels of data literacy and self-service across Xero
- Build successful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and communities across Xero including GTM teams, Product, Customer, Strategy and Finance.
- Grow the reputation of the Data Enablement team within the wider Xero data community to be seen as advisors and subject matter experts who can teach and enable better ways to shape and answer business questions
- Increasing collaboration with your colleagues in Data Engineering to understand and improve the data literacy of all Xeros
- Advocate for the wider Xero data community inside the Data Engineering team, bringing their interests into all discussions and driving the agenda on evangelism and data literacy
- Continuously identify and highlight opportunities to enhance our core data assets and work closely with the other parts of the Data Engineering team to prioritise, design and drive delivery of these improvements

- Champion and drive processes and practices that make it possible for the team to do great work, while promoting a safe environment for people to experiment and learn
Success looks like- Driving measurable increase in the quantity and quality of data driven decision-making across Xero’s Product, Customer, FInance, and other teams
- You have a track record of delivering improvements to the skills, assets and processes in use across the Xero data community.
- Relationships with the other segments of the Data Engineering team and with the other parts of Xero are deep and trusted with mutual respect and co-ownership of the continuous drive to improve
- Demonstrated growth and personal development across both the technical and business aspects of data analytics at Xero

Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in data and developing analytical data products to answer key business questions in a large, complex environment
- Ability to think strategically as well as balancing the need to deliver tactical solutions when required.
- Managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and being able to prioritise accordingly
- Experience in modern enterprise analytics platforms, such as Tableau
- Specific experience in database technologies - ideally Snowflake
