Job Description
The IT Operations Manager is a strategic role responsible not only for managing day to day IT Operation, but also defining IT Strategy for the organisation.
You will be responsible for overseeing IT Operations in 4 different offices, across 3 countries and will lead and manage a team of IT Operation professionals across multiple offices. You will work closely with DevOps and Security functions to ensure secure and compliant IT infrastructure ranging from endpoints, to network and to directory services.
This leader will operate with a high degree of autonomy, driving innovation, operational efficiency, and compliance across global technology systems. They are expected to develop and execute strategies to maintain a secure, resilient, and scalable IT environment, while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the teams they manage.

Responsibilities:
Owns
- Endpoints used by employees
- Office Network & Performance
- Internal IT assets eg. UEM, ServiceDesk, etc
- Security & Compliance Alignment
- Service provisioning & user management

Building and Managing the Team
- Conduct interviews and participate in the hiring process for new team members.
- Onboard and train new team members.
- Provide regular feedback and performance reviews to team members.
- Identify training and development needs for the team.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Address team conflicts and performance issues.
Operations
- Undertake day to day resolution of IT issues raised across ITSM platform
- Manage team availability to ensure maximum coverage across all BlueOptima Offices
Strategic Leadership & Planning

Infrastructure & Operational Oversight
- Maintain and support core internal infrastructure, including laptops, desktops, servers, firewalls, routers, switches, printers, VPNs, LANs, Microsoft Active Directory (AD), and other network components.
- Ensure high availability and resilience of IT systems and infrastructure, with proactive monitoring, auditing, and backup strategies in place.
Security & Compliance
- Lead the implementation and management of information security processes, policies, and controls in line with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Conduct regular system and compliance audits, ensuring consistent adherence to security standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Legal department and General Counsel to address risk, privacy, and compliance-related initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with internal departments, external vendors, and legal stakeholders to support technology initiatives and maintain a secure, compliant environment.
- Translate technical challenges and opportunities into actionable plans for non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the IT Service Management (ITSM) domain, encompassing both operational IT support and information security practices.
- At least 3 years of direct management experience.
- Proven experience in managing and scaling IT support functions, help desk operations, and user support workflows.
- Demonstrated experience leading information security initiatives, including risk assessment, security awareness, and policy enforcement.
- Demonstrated experience driving an IT change through an Organisation
Technical & Domain Expertise
- IT Support & Infrastructure
- Deep understanding of desktop support for Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, group policies, patch management, and backup strategies.
- Hands on experience with Network Management, and proven experience managing Gateway, and implementing network segregation using VLANs of
- Clear understanding of networking concepts like DNS, DHCP, etc
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, ACLs, routing protocols, VLANs, and network monitoring
Soft Skills & Professional Traits
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and proactive follow-through.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of translating technical detail into executive-level updates.
- Experience working autonomously in high-trust, low-oversight environments.
- Comfortable collaborating across departments, particularly with Legal, Compliance, and Risk functions, to ensure organizational alignment on security and infrastructure standards.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
Good to have:
- Certifications
- Information Security: One or more certifications such as: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CompTIA Security+, CEH, GIAC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer
- IT Support/Systems: Certifications such as: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Linux+ or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- ITIL Foundation or higher-level certification in IT Service Management.
- Working with geographically dispersed teams across multiple time zones.
- Good knowledge of IPTables
- Competence in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
