We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join Spotify’s Platform Developer Experience team. We in the Platinum Product Area, make Spotify engineers faster and more effective by driving improvements in developer flows across disciplines and provide tools to align on engineering standards and practices. You will play a key role in shaping the future of software migrations through AI-powered tooling and guidance.
At Spotify, we have developed and evolved our Fleet Management system to enable large scale changes across our entire codebase. Software migrations are one type of large-scale changes that can be quite complex and go beyond simple code transformations making generative AI tools a good fit for creating and executing on them. You’ll join a team focused on improving developer experience and leading our AI migrations initiative. This is a high-impact role where you will strike a balance between exploring fast-evolving technologies and building reliable tools that make sweeping code changes across tens of thousands of components, saving thousands of engineering hours.

What You'll Do- Further develop and productionize our existing AI migration toolset
- Integrate AI migration tooling with our Fleet Management tools, enabling AI generated changes across the entire fleet
- Work with engineers in other infrastructure teams to build a solid understanding of different use cases of migrations and how to address them
- Provide guidance on how to create and execute large scale AI migrations as well as hands-on support during such migrations
- Define and implement metrics showing the impact of the migration tooling on cost/engineering time saved and enabling us to identify improvements
Who You Are- You are proficient in Java
- You have good knowledge of Python and Typescript
- You have experience working with GenAI tools and LLMs
- You are skilled in platform engineering, with a deep understanding of challenges related to large-scale migrations
- You like solving challenging problems at scale and are not afraid to break things on the way to having impact
Where You'll Be- This role is based in London. We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home
