What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a frontend engineer to join our growing product team. You’ll collaborate closely with product and design to craft clean, performant, and scalable React applications. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their engineering career who’s excited by beautiful interfaces, user-centric design and startup energy.
Core Responsibilities
Collaborate with the product team to scope and deliver new features
Build modular, performant React components
Contribute to our ongoing migration from MUI to ShadCN components
Review code and provide feedback to colleagues
Help improve our development workflow and tooling
What You’ll Bring to autone
Must-Haves:
A 2:1 or above in a STEM subject (ideally Computer Science) - or equivalent professional experience
1-2 years of experience as an engineer, ideally within an early-stage startup
Strong knowledge of React and TypeScript
Experience building performant, user-friendly web interfaces
Strong knowledge of frontend tooling and ecosystems
A keen eye for design and user experience
Someone product and design obsessed who loves to create beautiful user experiences
Enjoyment of in-office work and team collaboration
The tech stack you’ll be working with
Languages & Frameworks: React, TypeScript, RTK Query

Compensation
£50k - £60k + equity, depending on experience
The Interview Process
We value transparency in our hiring process. Here’s what you can expect:
Stage 1: Initial Interview (30 mins)
A short chat with our Lead Frontend Engineer, Yuri, to explore your technical background and introduce autone. This is a great chance for us to hear about your experiences and for you to get a first glimpse into life at autone and the exciting things we're working on.
Stage 2: Technical Interview (2 hours)
A pair programming technical assessment, we'll provide a specific task to work through, and the focus will be on your thought process and collaboration, not just finding the "perfect" solution.
Stage 3: Meet the CTO (30 mins)
Time for a chat with our Chief Technology Officer! This is a wonderful opportunity to delve deeper into autone's overall vision, our big plans for the future, and to explore how your unique talents and aspirations align with our journey.
