Zest AI is seeking highly-motivated interns to join our Engineering team. In the Engineering team, we work on all parts of the stack (Front-End, Backend, Data Engineering) and use the latest tech to ensure Zest AI’s machine-learning models are deployed with the highest efficiency and our data pipelines are automated from end-to-end. As an intern, you will be exposed to the ins and outs of company operations through impactful hands-on experience, as well as receiving guidance from members of the Engineering team. You’ll also have a chance to work closely with and learn from members of our other teams, such as the Data Science team, providing valuable insight to how our teams work together while developing high-quality solutions to complex problems.
Here at Zest AI, we treat our interns just like any other member of the team, so you’ll have lots of opportunities to learn and contribute by working along-side us on the following:
- Developing APIs for our microservices which allow our customers to build, deploy, and monitor lending models (Typescript, Python)
- Engineering seamless user experiences that not only look good, but also interact with the backend efficiently (React)
- Automating our current and new data pipelines to ensure they are as efficient as possible (Airflow, Kafka, S3)
- Working with databases and data lakes to develop efficient ways of moving the TONS of data we need for our model generation and analysis (Postgres, Snowflake)
In general, the work done by interns will have a direct and significant impact on the business, while providing plenty of opportunities to learn through considerable real-world experience.
For our Engineering Intern position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual who:
- Is currently a student or recent grad pursuing a BSc, MSc, or PhD in a software engineering related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, etc.)
- Has the ability to write clean and readable code (experience with version control platforms like GitHub is a plus)
- Has strong fundamentals in programming and takes the time to look for the best solution
- Has experience with SQL or a strong desire to learn SQL
- Has an insatiable appetite for learning and is excited about building new products
- Is passionate about ML/AI and how it can improve the world
