About the Implementation & Technical Data Operations Team
The Implementation team ensures customers onboard successfully and realizes value fast. Our projects often require large volumes of customer data, including contracts, billing schedules, invoices, cleaned, transformed, and loaded into Tabs accurately.
The Technical Data Operations Manager will partner closely with the Implementation Manager to handle this critical work: shaping messy, multi-source data into a usable, accurate format, ensuring a smooth transition into Tabs. You’ll be a technical problem-solver who loves wrangling data, creating clean pipelines, and removing blockers for customers and internal teams. You’ll be equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to clean data yourself and leading a team, including hiring, training, and managing offshore resources.
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented, and technically capable data operations specialist who can work across tools, spreadsheets, and scripts to make customer data migration seamless. You’ll work directly with the Implementation Manager, customers, and engineers to ensure data accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and deliver clean datasets into our platform.
Responsibilities
Lead data operations for customer implementations, ensuring clean and accurate data makes it into Tabs. Monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues, and implement controls to prevent errors.
Collaborate with Implementation Managers to understand customer requirements and timelines. Own the full lifecycle of customer data migration from collection and validation to transformation and loading.
Build, document, and continually improve repeatable data processes. Work with Engineering to request or develop tooling that accelerates data operations.
Hire, train, and manage a distributed team to scale capacity as we grow.
Who You Are
Highly organized and detail-focused, with a passion for clean, accurate data. Your spreadsheets and scripts are always organized across various versions.
A natural problem-solver who can work through ambiguity and figure out how to get from messy inputs to a clean final dataset.
Strong communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Process-oriented, hands-on technical skills combined with leadership skills. You’re comfortable doing the work and managing others.
Requirements
Excellent with Google Sheets or Excel (array formulas, lookups, query functions, pivot tables).
Experience with data cleaning and transformation across multiple data sources.
Comfortable with SQL and/or Python for data manipulation, plus basic knowledge of API-based data pulls.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) for reporting and pulling data for customers to review for quality checks.
Nice to Have
Bonus points for experience in finance and accounting, or in a highly regulated data-driven industry (Fintech, Healthcare, Consulting)
Prior experience building or managing offshore teams.
