About the team
OpenAI’s mission is to build safe artificial general intelligence (AGI) which benefits all of humanity. This long-term undertaking brings the world’s best scientists, engineers, and business professionals into one lab together to accomplish this.
In pursuit of this mission, our Revenue Operations team is responsible for equipping and enabling the Go To Market (GTM) as they seek to help customers learn how to leverage and deploy our highly capable AI products across their business. The team is made of Sales, Solutions, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Partnership professionals that work together to create valuable solutions that will help bring AI to as many users as possible.
About the role
We’re seeking a seasoned and hands-on GTM Systems Engineering Team Lead to guide the technical execution of our AI-native go-to-market platform. This player-coach role balances strategic oversight with deep technical contribution—steering infrastructure, DevOps, and system architecture while staying close to the code.
You’ll partner closely with Enterprise Systems Managers to align engineering capacity with business priorities, ensuring each sprint delivers secure, repeatable, and high-velocity outcomes. With a significant voice in technical direction, you’ll mentor engineers through solution design, code review, and delivery, fostering a culture of safety, scalability, and innovation.
This is a leadership role for someone who has “been there, built that” at scale, but thrives in ambiguity—ready to roll up their sleeves and shape the future of modern GTM systems.
This role is based in our San Francisco HQ. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you'll:
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of GTM Systems Engineers, balancing hands-on technical work with strategic leadership.
Drive architectural decisions and technical execution for Salesforce and integrated GTM platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
Establish and enforce engineering best practices—including DevOps pipelines, code review processes, and deployment safety protocols.
Partner with Enterprise Systems Managers to plan sprint capacity, assess technical trade-offs, and align on delivery priorities.
Design and implement complex integrations and automation across multiple platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Clay, LeanData, Hightouch, OpenAI-built tools).
Champion repeatable, secure, and high-velocity delivery in an evolving AI-driven environment.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure technical solutions meet business goals and maintain operational excellence.
You might thrive in this role if you have:
Proven track record of leading technical teams in high-growth, enterprise-scale environments.
8+ years of experience in GTM systems engineering, Salesforce architecture, and enterprise application integration.
Expertise in DevOps practices for enterprise applications, including CI/CD, version control, deployment automation, and rollback strategies.
Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance across global operations.
Executive presence and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders.
Experience balancing high-velocity delivery with repeatable safety and operational rigor
