We are looking for a creative and pragmatic problem solver to serve as Corporate Counsel 2 - Commercial in a growing, world-class legal team. This Corporate Counsel 2 - Commercial role will focus on supporting the Professional Services and Training Team (PS&T) and the Solution Innovation Team (SI Team) that provide specialized services and training around Snowflake to our customer base. This an in-person role based in Menlo Park, California or Atlanta, Georgia and will report to a Director, Assistant General Counsel. This is not a remote position.
AS CORPORATE COUNSEL 2 - COMMERCIAL YOU WILL:
Work closely and partner with the Sales teams on transactions that drive the company’s revenue.
Structure, negotiate, and close transactional agreements.
Work closely with internal subject-matter experts on various topics that affect your area of business.
Provide sound advice and guidance on legal and business-related issues to senior business leaders.
Manage risk and ensure business and compliance needs are accurately reflected in agreements.
Work well in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Respond promptly to the demands of an active technology sales team and their management.
Develop and deliver training on legal issues and contract processes.
Support continuous improvements of forms, policies and processes to help streamline, simplify and automate the contracting processes.
A SUCCESSFUL CORPORATE COUNSEL 2 - COMMERCIAL WILL:
Be able to forge strong relationships with Snowflake’s customers and cross-functional groups within Snowflake, including Sales, PS&T, SI Team and Alliances.
Be flexible, fun, hard-working and have the desire to be impactful, as your contributions will be a key driver to Snowflake’s continued growth and success.
A minimum of 5 years of legal experience including in-house experience, preferably with a successful, high-growth enterprise SaaS company.
Law degree from an accredited U.S. law school and licensed to practice law in the U.S for a minimum of 5 years.
Outstanding analytical, drafting, negotiation, collaboration, written and communication skills.
Strong background dealing with SaaS-centric issues (i.e. revenue recognition, tax, privacy, security, data privacy, intellectual property), professional services and various go to market programs.
Experience with supporting Statements of Work for professional services, such as drafting the terms, negotiating the terms and supporting a professional services sales team.
Exceptional and pragmatic organizational, project management, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
Flexibility and eagerness to work hard in fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines (especially at quarter end).
The ability to think and execute both strategically and tactically.
Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide variety of people, at all levels inside and outside the organization, in a fast-paced environment.
