As a Business Intelligence Engineer III at iFoodDS, you'll own the full analytics lifecycle – from requirements gathering and pipeline development to design of data models and delivery of dashboards and analytical tools that support both our customers and internal stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for the scalability and structure of our reporting systems, drive adoption of modern best practices, and mentor others on the team. As a senior-level contributor, you’ll be expected to take ownership of complex analytics initiatives, define best practices, and help scale data solutions that serve both internal and customer-facing needs.
This 100% remote role is ideal for someone who is relentlessly curious, blends technical fluency with business acumen, enjoys collaboration, and is passionate about continuous improvement of modern data platforms. Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data models to support analytics use cases.
- Monitor and optimize pipeline performance and cost efficiency using cost management tools.
- Proactively drive cloud cost optimization strategies and collaborate with engineering and DevOps to realize performance improvements.
- Maintain reporting workflows that ensure reliable and timely delivery of analytics.
Analytics & Visualization
- Create, enhance, and maintain customer-facing dashboards and reports that deliver accurate and actionable analytics.
- Define and drive standardized metrics and KPIs across products and teams.
- Identify advanced analyses (e.g., cohort analysis, period over period) to uncover insights and influence product and business strategy.
Quality, Governance & Automation
- Write high-quality SQL and maintain clean, reusable analytics code using version control.
- Contribute to data governance practices including documentation, access control, data masking and anonymization, and metric consistency.
- Champion analytics best practices and continuously seek opportunities to improve tooling and processes for reporting and data science.
Mentorship & Leadership
- Mentor junior team members through code reviews, design sessions, and knowledge sharing.
- Take initiative in identifying gaps or opportunities in reporting infrastructure.
- Operate independently and with accountability for project outcomes.
- Help define team coding standards and reusable frameworks for metric design and dashboard consistency.
- Represent analytics engineering in cross-functional planning and roadmap discussions.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s in a quantitative field (e.g., Data/Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of proven experience owning end-to-end production data solutions and driving decision-making as an analytics or business intelligence engineer, similar role.
- Deep expertise in Snowflake, dbt, SQL, Python, Git and working with a modern BI toolset (e.g., Looker or similar).
- Strong business intuition to turn ambiguous stakeholder questions into clear KPIs and metrics.
- Effective communicator, comfortable translating complex data concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Team player with humility, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit.
Preferred
- Experience applying machine learning to use cases such as quality classification, resource optimization, and forecasting
- Familiarity with food supply chain, regulatory reporting, or quality management systems.
- Background in enterprise SaaS or customer-facing analytics products.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures or real-time analytics.
Compensation
The salary for this position typically ranges from $110,880 to $126,000. This range is intended to reflect prevailing salaries in different geographic locations across the United States as well as the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
