Job Description
Overview
The Demo Engineering team provides strategic and technical expertise to Sales and Solution Engineering teams during the sales cycle. As a Senior Demo Strategist, you will co-create and own the end-to-end demo strategy for Freshworks—transforming discovery into compelling storyboards, defining what gets demoed for each segment or vertical, and scaling reusable assets such as scripts, videos, decks, data packs, and central demo environments. You will also manage the demo tooling stack, ensuring Solution Engineering teams have access to reliable, demo-ready storylines and click-paths that drive customer impact.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Demo Strategy & Storyboarding: Define the demo strategy by motion (segment, vertical, persona, use case), with clear “when to use what” guidance across product lines. Run structured internal discovery with Sales and Solution Engineering teams to translate challenges into narratives, storyboards, personas, and click-paths that align to live customer opportunities.
- Demo Asset Creation: Build and maintain a reusable demo catalog—including demo scripts, talk tracks, decks, short videos, and other storytelling materials aligned with product lines and verticals.
- Demo Environment Ownership: Design and manage central demo accounts by setting up roles, maintaining data integrity, configuring workflows, and ensuring environment reliability within defined SLAs.
- Demo Tooling & Automation: Oversee internal and external demo-automation tools. Define and execute a roadmap for tool improvements, based on feedback from SEs and users. Use these tools to build AI-driven assets, verticalized demo instances, and data-seeding packages.
- Project Management: Partner with the extended Demo Engineering team to deliver working versions of demo stories, manage timelines, and coordinate custom development work or workflow configurations for internal demo tools.
- Field Enablement & Adoption: Drive adoption of standard demo narratives and storylines by creating playbooks, “how to tell the story” guides, micro-learning courses, and hosting office hours.
- Strategic Event Collaboration: Work with regional SE leaders, Product Marketing, and Product Management teams to design demo flows for large public-facing events and deliver cohesive demo experiences.
- Performance Measurement: Track key metrics such as asset reuse, time-to-demo SLAs, CSAT, system uptime, and revenue influence. Iterate assets and processes for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in Solution Engineering, Pre-Sales, or Solution Architect roles, with strong customer-facing exposure.
- Proven expertise in designing and delivering live product demos and narratives.
- Strong storyboarding and content creation skills (scripts, decks, videos).
- Hands-on experience with GenAI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar models.
- Light scripting or automation experience (e.g., JavaScript, REST APIs) for demo setup, seeding, or health checks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; a Master’s in Business Administration or Content Strategy is an advantage.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and influence multiple stakeholders.
- Highly driven and execution-focused, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Collaborative team player with a self-starter mindset and the ability to thrive in unstructured, high-impact projects.
