Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Head of India Government Affairs role stands out in SaaS because it sits at the intersection of platform regulation and market access for a global subscription product. For a company operating a large-scale digital content service, India’s policy environment—spanning competition, copyright, and content governance—directly shapes how the product can be distributed, monetized, and moderated.
The career value is in learning how public policy becomes an operational input for SaaS businesses, not a parallel track. The remit implies translating regulatory signals into clear internal guidance, aligning with legal, product, communications, and trust & safety, and maintaining consistency with global positions. That combination builds durable SaaS fluency: understanding risk, anticipating change, and influencing outcomes without owning the product roadmap.
This position is best suited to a senior operator who prefers externally facing work paired with internal coordination, and who is comfortable representing a company across ministries, regulators, and industry coalitions. It will likely appeal to professionals who enjoy long-horizon strategy, stakeholder mapping, and crisp written and verbal advocacy, while staying close to how a subscription platform functions in practice.
