### Why this Role is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
FruitScout represents a clear example of vertical SaaS: software built around a specific industry workflow, in this case agriculture, and strengthened by operational data from the field. The Project Manager (Biologist) role sits at the intersection of domain expertise and product-enabled delivery, translating biological and environmental work into structured, measurable programmes supported by databases and GIS. That blend is increasingly common in SaaS businesses serving physical-world industries where data quality and process design directly shape customer outcomes.
From a SaaS career perspective, this position builds durable strengths in implementation-style project leadership: coordinating stakeholders, standardising repeatable processes, and improving how information moves from operations into reporting and decision-making. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and integrating technology into field workflows tends to transfer well across vertical SaaS categories, particularly where deployments span multiple locations and require consistent execution.
