Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Infrastructure and developer experience roles are increasingly central in SaaS, where product iteration depends on reliable, repeatable delivery. This Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer position stands out for its focus on the internal platform layer—automation pipelines, Kubernetes-based runtime, and cloud-managed services—work that directly shapes how quickly and safely a SaaS engineering org can ship.
For a long-term SaaS career, the scope offers durable leverage: building CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices that translate across modern subscription software businesses. The emphasis on reducing developer friction and improving reliability aligns with the operational realities of SaaS—continuous deployment, shared environments, and the need for consistent observability. Experience here tends to compound, because improvements to build/test/deploy systems scale with headcount and product surface area.
This role is best suited to engineers who enjoy owning foundational systems rather than feature delivery, and who prefer measurable outcomes (latency, wait times, failure rates) over ad-hoc firefighting. It will fit someone comfortable influencing standards early, collaborating closely with application developers, and working hands-on across GCP, GKE, Terraform, and GitHub-based workflows in a remote setup.
