Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Sales Development Manager roles matter in SaaS because they sit at the junction of product-led interest, marketing demand creation, and quota-carrying sales. In a category like AI-powered video communications, the SDR function is often where messaging is pressure-tested against real buyer objections and where account targeting starts to resemble a repeatable system rather than a set of one-off wins.
For a SaaS career, this position builds durable operating skills: translating ICP hypotheses into outbound and inbound motions, establishing activity-to-pipeline instrumentation, and tightening the feedback loop between Sales, Marketing, Enablement, and RevOps. Leading a team also develops the management craft that scales in subscription businesses—coaching, playbook iteration, forecasting hygiene, and making performance visible through consistent metrics.
This role is best suited to a leader who enjoys being close to the day-to-day mechanics of pipeline creation while still shaping strategy. It will fit someone who values structured experimentation (messaging, sequences, routing, qualification) and who is comfortable partnering across functions to improve lead quality and handoff. Given the on-site expectation in NYC, it also aligns with professionals who prefer in-person coaching and real-time collaboration.
