Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Engineering Manager role sits at the intersection of SaaS platform engineering and real time data infrastructure, an area that has become core to modern cloud products. Within Snowflake’s Streaming team, the remit touches customer facing capabilities like ingestion and declarative pipelines, where reliability and operability are part of the product experience rather than an internal concern. That makes the scope especially relevant for SaaS leaders working on foundational services that many other teams and customers depend on.
From a SaaS career standpoint, the position offers durable experience in scaling a managed service: balancing roadmap delivery with service health, performance, and security expectations. Leading work from idea through implementation, while partnering closely with product management, builds the kind of cross functional operating rhythm common in mature SaaS organizations. The domain exposure to streaming systems and SQL engine adjacent problems also transfers well across data, infrastructure, and platform roles in cloud companies.
The role is best suited to an experienced engineering leader who still wants to engage deeply with technical direction while building team capability through hiring, mentoring, and coaching. It will fit someone comfortable being accountable for strategy and execution, and who prefers environments where orchestration, self healing, and “no knobs” operational simplicity are treated as first class product requirements.
