Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Software Engineer role sits at a distinctly SaaS intersection: customer experience, support operations, and applied AI. Within a cloud data platform context, the mandate is not generic feature delivery but building ML and LLM-driven systems that help technical experts resolve customer issues more effectively, which is a common leverage point for mature SaaS products with complex usage patterns.
For a long-term SaaS career, the work offers durable exposure to how product reliability and customer outcomes are operationalised at scale. Designing metrics and experiments, iterating on models, and shipping services across Python and Java in Kubernetes aligns with the practical skill set SaaS companies increasingly expect from senior engineers working on internal platforms and automation. The emphasis on instrumentation and troubleshooting in cloud environments also maps well to modern SaaS expectations around observability and measurable impact.
This role is best suited to engineers who like translating ambiguous operational problems into production systems, and who are comfortable collaborating across product, design, and partner teams. It fits someone who enjoys applied ML without needing to work at a research depth, and who wants their engineering to connect directly to customer-facing workflows.

Job Description
Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential — and people too. With a culture that’s all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology — and careers — to the next level.
Senior Software Engineer - Customer Experience Engineering
Our customers are constantly finding new ways to innovate with Snowflake’s technology. The Customer Experience Engineering Team is dedicated to empowering customers to explore these possibilities. When customers encounter challenges or technical issues, the Support team collaborates with them to overcome those roadblocks and help them achieve success with Snowflake. Our team is contributing to the overall success by data, machine learning and LLM-based solutions. We automate and enhance our technical experts making their work more efficient, or automating various processes.
Now, the team is growing, and we are looking for a Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work closely with the state of the art LLM models, possibly fine-tune them, develop agents, apply various clusterings, summarizations, embeddings and so on. Even though we usually only use high level libraries (e.g. scikit or Snowflake’s Cortex) rather than apply matrix multiplications on our own, some previous experience in the machine learning front is definitely useful.
As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development of machine learning and LLM-based solutions, propose new and keep improving the existing models.
You will:
Help to implement projects that span our stack, including Java and Python services hosted in Snowflake and Kubernetes
Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including product management and design
Deliver features requiring close coordination with several partner teams
Be a participant in defining the product vision and team planning
Pinpoint problems, instrument relevant components as needed, and ultimately implement solutions
Our ideal Software Engineer will have:
B.S. or M.S. degree in CS, or equivalent discipline
3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
1+ years of working machine learning experience
Interest in the State of the Art LLM-based solutions
Experience with modern application design architecture, good API design patterns, performance and scale
Expertise in at least one of the following: Python, Java
Experience with software engineering best practices: unit testing, code reviews, design documentation
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, especially in a cloud environment
Great communication skills, both verbal and written and an interest in working with a diverse set of peers and external developers
Genuine enjoyment of the art of building great software, and a love of learning new things
Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
