Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Product Manager role stands out in SaaS because it is oriented around ecosystem intelligence rather than feature delivery. In a market where AI-native vendors and platform partnerships can shift buying criteria quickly, dedicated research into competitors, adjacent tools, and partner landscapes becomes a strategic input to product direction and go to market alignment.
For a SaaS career, the work builds durable skills in turning messy external signals into decisions leaders can act on. Producing executive-ready briefings, battlecards, and trend analyses develops the craft of narrative plus evidence, a core competency across product strategy, product marketing, and corporate development in subscription businesses. The cross-functional surface area across Product, Engineering, and GTM also mirrors how SaaS organizations translate market change into roadmap, positioning, and integration priorities.
The position suits product professionals who prefer ambiguity, investigation, and synthesis over sprint mechanics. It is a strong match for someone technically fluent who enjoys connecting product capabilities to customer workflows and competitive differentiation. It also fits candidates interested in being close to senior decision-making and comfortable influencing through clarity rather than direct authority.

Job Description
We’re seeking a highly analytical, technically fluent Product Manager to spearhead research into Jellyfish’s competitive and partner ecosystem, with a sharp lens on the influence of AI-driven companies. You’ll sit at the intersection of market intelligence, product strategy, and executive decision-making.
This is not a standard roadmap and backlog style PM role—you’ll be responsible for building a clear picture of where the market is heading, how competitors and adjacent players position themselves, and what opportunities Jellyfish should pursue. Your insights will help guide senior leaders across Product, GTM, and Engineering.
What You’ll Do:
Ecosystem Research & Strategy
Map Jellyfish’s ecosystem of competitors, partners, and adjacent tools.
Track how AI technologies and startups are reshaping customer expectations and workflows.
Identify gaps, opportunities, and threats in the engineering management space.
Competitive Intelligence
Conduct deep research into competitive product offerings, messaging, pricing, and positioning.
Provide executive-ready deliverables (briefings, battlecards, trend analyses).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, and GTM.
Help shape product direction by ensuring strategy is grounded in market realities.
Influence decision-making with crisp, data-backed recommendations.
Let’s talk about what you need to excel:
AI Subject Matter Expert with opinions on the direction of the space and where we should go.
Proven success in software product management, ideally at fast-growing, SaaS-based startups.
Ability to identify what a great product looks and feels like, and have the confidence to challenge the team to produce the best possible result when you know it’s not up to standard.
Being thoughtful, organized, and disciplined. You have a bias to action, thrive in rapidly evolving environments, and take initiative to see things through to completion.
Strong listening and great communication skills - you can clearly and thoughtfully explain product concepts to our customers, and customer use cases to our internal team members.
Experience facilitating and collaborating with high emotional intelligence. You constantly inspire your peers by providing context and strong evidence of the customer and business value of what they’re working on.
Excited by solving complex problems in the simplest possible way, and know what tools to apply when in order to get there.
You’re not afraid to take risks, and you do so in a thoughtful way that ensures you and your team learn no matter the outcome.
A list of job experiences and qualification requirements is great, but humility, a performance-driven attitude, and a team-player approach are most important to us. We love to have fun and win in the process. We only hire people who have a passion for building great companies in an environment where a sense of humor is a must.
Occasional travel may be required.
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Let’s talk about us!
This is all about you, but you want to know a little about us. Jellyfish enables leaders to effectively build AI-integrated engineering teams, align engineering decisions with business initiatives and deliver the right software efficiently and on time. AI tools alone won’t transform your org—Jellyfish shows you what’s working, what’s not, and how to build high-performing teams that know how to use AI the right way.
