Role Overview – Account Director
As an Account Director, you will play a strategic leadership role within the UK enterprise sales organisation. You will own and grow a portfolio of large, complex enterprise opportunities, acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives while driving significant new-logo and expansion revenue.
You will lead end-to-end sales strategy for your accounts—from executive discovery through deal execution and long-term value realisation—championing Genesys’ AI-powered cloud platform, including predictive AI, conversational AI, and our industry-leading Experience Orchestration capabilities.
This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and influence, working closely with Sales Leadership, Solution Consulting, Customer Success, and the wider GTM ecosystem to deliver sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
🚀 Strategic Pipeline Ownership & Growth
- Own and drive large, strategic enterprise opportunities with complex buying groups.
- Shape multi-year account strategies aligned to customer transformation priorities.
- Lead high-value new-logo pursuits and expansion opportunities.
🤝 Executive Engagement & Value Creation
- Engage C-suite and senior stakeholders with a compelling, outcome-focused AI transformation narrative.
- Translate customer challenges into clear, value-led business cases with measurable ROI.
🏆 Elite Deal Leadership
- Lead complex SaaS sales cycles using MEDDPICC, ensuring rigour, predictability, and high-quality execution.
- Navigate multi-stakeholder environments, building champions and executive sponsorship.
💡 Trusted Advisor & Thought Leader
- Act as a strategic partner to customers, providing insight into industry trends, AI adoption, and experience transformation.
- Influence customer strategy beyond the immediate deal, positioning Genesys as a long-term partner.
🤜🤛 Leadership Through Collaboration
- Orchestrate cross-functional teams (SDRs, Solution Consultants, Marketing, Customer Success) around account strategy.
- Serve as a role model within the sales organisation, embodying One Genesys values and best practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven, consistent track record selling enterprise SaaS or Cloud/Digital solutions.
- 8–10+ years of experience leading and closing high-value, complex enterprise deals.
- Strong command of MEDDPICC and disciplined enterprise sales execution.
- Exceptional executive presence, business acumen, and negotiation skills.
- Evidence of sustained overachievement and ownership of large, strategic accounts.
- Experience operating with autonomy and influencing outcomes at a senior level.
