Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Site Reliability Engineer role stands out in SaaS because it is explicitly forward deployed, pairing production-grade reliability work with hands-on customer deployments. Teleport operates in infrastructure identity, access, and policy, a category where trust, uptime, and secure integrations are central to product adoption. The remit spans networking, performance, security, and integrations, reflecting the realities of SaaS products that sit deep in a customer’s stack rather than at the application surface.
For a long-term SaaS career, the role offers a rare blend of operational engineering and product influence. Work includes improving Infrastructure as Code deployments, contributing Go code for fixes and small features, and translating field issues into requirements and business cases for engineering investment. That combination builds transferable capability across SaaS environments where reliability, onboarding friction, and time-to-value directly shape retention and expansion.
This position fits engineers who enjoy context switching between code, systems, and stakeholder conversations, and who prefer solving concrete deployment blockers over purely internal platform work. It also suits those comfortable representing engineering in customer settings and turning ambiguous problems into actionable technical paths.
