Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This backend engineering role sits at the heart of a cloud-native observability and security SaaS, where product value is tightly coupled to reliability, latency, and cost at scale. The listing signals a platform layer that processes customer telemetry after ingestion, covering concerns like reporting, alerting, and forwarding, which are foundational capabilities for any monitoring product. Work in this area tends to influence multiple downstream features, making it a meaningful slice of the overall SaaS platform.
For a long-term SaaS career, the role offers sustained exposure to the operational realities of running multi-tenant services on AWS, including performance tuning, availability, and handling high query volumes. Building and maintaining microservices that support millions of queries and petabyte-scale data flows develops transferable strengths in distributed systems, data pipeline patterns, and pragmatic engineering tradeoffs that recur across modern B2B SaaS platforms.
The position is best suited to an experienced backend engineer who prefers systems-level problem solving and measurable outcomes such as throughput, resiliency, and efficiency. It also fits someone comfortable collaborating across functions and contributing to engineering standards through reviews and mentoring, while staying adaptable on language choice across common backend stacks.
