Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Android Engineer role stands out in the SaaS ecosystem because it sits on a consumer subscription product where the surface area is unusually broad and deeply integrated across devices and partners. The scope described spans multiple high-visibility entry points in the app, which is where SaaS product expectations around consistency, reliability, and iteration are most apparent. Work on a shared feed platform also signals a focus on reusable capabilities rather than one-off features, a common pattern in mature SaaS product organizations.
From a SaaS career perspective, the role offers sustained exposure to product-led development where engagement loops and discovery mechanics are central. The emphasis on clarifying ambiguous problems, defining MVPs, and learning from user behavior reflects the operating rhythm of teams that ship continuously and measure outcomes. Platform work that supports other internal teams is also transferable experience for SaaS environments that rely on internal APIs, shared components, and cross-team enablement.
This position is best suited to an engineer who enjoys owning delivery while collaborating closely with product, design, and data partners. It fits someone who prefers building user-facing experiences but is also interested in how experimentation, backend considerations, and platform constraints shape what ships. The London-based setup with some in-person touchpoints aligns with a working style that values autonomy alongside regular cross-functional alignment.

Job Description
We design Spotify’s consumer experience—end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for billions of users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints—from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. If it touches a consumer, we shape it. We bring deep insight into human behavior, design, and technology to craft experiences that feel intuitive, expressive, and unmistakably Spotify.
You’ll join the Foreground Experiences squad. We build the Watch Feed platform — a vertically scrolling, immersive experience that powers some of Spotify’s most visible and high-impact surfaces, including Wrapped, discovery feeds, and entity explorers across the app. Our work sits at the intersection of product vision, design, and engineering, shaping how hundreds of millions of users discover something new every day.

What You’ll Do- Take ownership of semi-ambiguous product and technical problems, working closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and teammates to clarify scope and define iterative MVPs.
- Design, build, and ship Android features that power Watch Feed experiences across Spotify surfaces such as Home, Browse, Playlist, Artist, and Album pages.
- Contribute to features that drive discovery, video consumption, and meaningful user engagement, including evolving discovery shelves and podcast experiences.
- Collaborate with partner teams who build on top of the Watch Feed platform, supporting use cases like Wrapped and other flagship Spotify moments.
- Iterate quickly, balancing speed, quality, and long-term platform thinking while continuously learning from real user behavior and data.
- Over time, help scale Watch Feed into a tier-one Spotify experience that users return to daily.
Who You Are- You have experience building Android applications and are comfortable working with modern Android development practices, including Jetpack Compose.
- You enjoy taking responsibility for delivery and feel motivated by turning loosely defined ideas into shipped product.
- You’re excited by product vision and care deeply about building experiences users love and come back to.
- You’re curious and growth-oriented, and open to using coding agents and new tools to level up how you build and learn.
- You’re interested in collaborating beyond Android, whether that’s exploring backend concepts, experimentation, or data-informed decision making.
- You’re comfortable working closely with cross-functional partners and adapting as priorities and context evolve.
Where You'll Be- This role is based in Stockholm or London.
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
