Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Tax leadership roles are increasingly central in public SaaS companies where subscription revenue, global expansion, and equity programs create persistent accounting and compliance complexity. This Senior Tax Manager position stands out because it sits at the intersection of ASC 740 reporting, acquisition accounting, and evolving international tax regimes, reflecting the operational realities of scaled cloud businesses with multi-entity footprints.
For a long-term SaaS career, the role offers durable exposure to how software companies translate commercial activity into financial statements and forecasts. Work spanning quarterly provisions, disclosures, and multi-year modeling builds fluency in the metrics and controls that investors and auditors scrutinize in recurring-revenue models. The emphasis on automation and process optimization also aligns with a broader shift in SaaS finance teams toward systems-driven close and compliance workflows.
This role is best suited to a tax professional who prefers ownership over end-to-end cycles, from technical positions through execution and control documentation, while partnering across Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Treasury, and HR. It will fit someone comfortable balancing precision with deadlines, and who values mentoring and building repeatable processes within a complex, multinational reporting environment.
