Software Engineer Internships (Frontend & Software Developer in Test)

Evergreen Requisition | June 2026 – Jan / June 2027

About the Opportunity:

Genesys is hiring 15 Software Engineer Interns to join our development teams working on our cloud-based SaaS platform. These opportunities span multiple domains including frontend, backend, testing, and full-stack engineering. Due to high candidate demand in certain areas, this posting is specifically focused on attracting candidates interested in Frontend Engineering and Software Developer in Test (QA / Automation) roles.

At Genesys, we invest heavily in onboarding, mentorship, and real-world experience. You will work on production systems used globally, collaborating in agile, cross-functional teams. We are looking for students graduating in January or June 2027. The internship runs from June 2026 through January or June 2027 (depending on graduation date), with a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week.

Location: Budapest (hybrid, minimum 2 days per week in office)

Your Internship at Genesys:

You will gain hands-on experience building and testing modern cloud applications. Our teams develop scalable systems using technologies such as AWS, microservices, REST APIs, and modern frontend frameworks.
You will also gain exposure to how AI and Machine Learning are embedded into our platform-powering intelligent automation, analytics, and customer engagement solutions.
Interns are embedded directly into scrum teams, contributing to real features. Many of our interns have code running in production and go on to join Genesys full-time after graduation.

Internship Tracks:

1. Frontend Engineering Intern

What You’ll Do:

Develop and enhance frontend features within Genesys Cloud
Build, test, and deploy UI components using modern UI frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue
Work within a microfrontend architecture
Manage UI state and integrate with backend APIs
Improve user experience and interaction flows
Collaborate with frontend, backend, and product teams
Participate in agile ceremonies (standups, planning, retrospectives)

Requirements:

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field
Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals
Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
Familiarity with modern UI frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
Interest in frontend development and UI architecture
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

2. Software Developer in Test Intern (QA / Automation)

What You’ll Do:

Collaborate with engineers and product managers in an agile team
Design and develop automated tests for cloud applications
Execute and analyze test cases for new and existing features
Identify, debug, and document issues
Contribute to test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
Learn modern testing practices and quality engineering principles

Requirements:

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Programming knowledge in one or more of: Java, Python, TypeScript, or Node.js
Ideally some exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright)
Understanding of software fundamentals (data structures, OOP)
Interest in testing, automation, and quality engineering
Strong willingness to learn and collaborate
