ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager, Data Platform Governance & Operations leads the implementation and day-to-day operation of governance frameworks across Genesys’ enterprise data platforms. This role ensures that data is trusted, discoverable, secure, and efficiently managed by defining and enabling governance controls embedded into enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Tableau.
You will partner with platform, engineering, and domain teams to operationalize data governance at scale, balancing enablement and guardrails, while improving data accessibility, compliance visibility, and cost efficiency across the ecosystem.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Data Governance Operations
- Operationalize enterprise data governance standards by defining and driving adoption of workflows, policies, and controls across data platforms to ensure secure and compliant data access
- Define and govern RBAC models and access workflows in partnership with platform teams, and audit mechanisms to improve data security and reduce unauthorized access risks
- Monitor governance adherence through metrics and reporting, identifying gaps in compliance, ownership, and data quality
Platform Governance & Enablement
- Partner with data platform teams to embed governance capabilities (catalog, lineage, access controls) into Snowflake, Databricks, and related tooling
- Enable governed self-service data access by defining standardized data publishing, certification, and metadata requirements for data products
- Support onboarding of new teams and data domains by guiding governance adoption and platform best practices without assuming ownership of domain data
Data Catalog, Stewardship & Insights
- Own the operation and continuous improvement of the enterprise data catalog, ensuring accurate metadata, lineage, and discoverability of data assets
- Establish and scale data stewardship practices, enabling domain teams to manage data ownership, certification, and lifecycle accountability
- Provide insights into governance maturity, platform usage, and cost trends to inform leadership decisions and optimize platform investments
WHAT YOU BRING
Required Qualifications
- Experience leading data governance, data platform operations, or data management programs in a cloud-based environment
- Strong knowledge of modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, or similar) and governance capabilities such as cataloging, lineage, and access control
- Experience implementing RBAC, data access workflows, and governance automation at scale
- Ability to partner with engineering, data, and business teams to drive adoption of governance standards
- Experience using data to measure platform usage, compliance, and operational effectiveness
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise data catalog tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, or similar)
- Familiarity with AI/ML data governance considerations, including model inputs, lineage, and responsible data usage
- Experience in SaaS or enterprise technology environments with distributed data ownership models
- Education Qualification – B.Tech/B.E (or comparable qualifications)
- 8-10 years of experience in similar roles
