Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Staff Software Architect role stands out in the SaaS landscape because it sits at the platform layer of a mature, multi-product cloud company serving a large customer base. The remit is not limited to shipping isolated AI features; it is centered on embedding LLM and agentic capabilities into core workflows and internal systems, which is increasingly how established SaaS vendors are evolving their products and operating models.
For a SaaS career, the value is in learning how AI adoption becomes an architectural discipline rather than a set of experiments. The work touches the realities that matter in subscription software at scale, including reliability, security, and cost control across multiple products, plus cross-functional translation of product strategy into durable technical direction. Experience aligning teams through an architecture forum also maps well to how larger SaaS engineering organizations standardize decisions without centralizing all delivery.
This position fits an architect-level engineer who prefers hands-on technical leadership with visible outcomes, and who is comfortable influencing across product and engineering leadership. It will suit someone motivated by ambiguity in platform evolution, where success depends on pragmatic trade-offs and sustained adoption, not just prototypes.

Job Description
We believe it takes great people to create a great product. That’s why our team lives our company values, and we hire based on them, too. Since 2010, Pipedrive has been on a mission to support sales and marketing teams with easy-to-use, powerful tools that make everyday work faster and easier. Today, our cloud-based software is trusted by over 100,000 companies and used in 179 countries. We have grown from a five-person team to a truly international company of over 850+ people, representing more than 50 nationalities, with ten offices distributed across Europe and the US. In 2020, Pipedrive received a majority investment from Vista Equity Partners, a global investment firm that invests exclusively in enterprise software, data, and technology-enabled businesses, making Pipedrive the fifth unicorn from Estonia.
This is a chance to shape what “AI-native” looks like in a global SaaS company, not just in theory, but in practice. You’ll work on real challenges at scale, influence company-wide direction, and help define the future of our platform. At Pipedrive, this is not about using AI as a tool.
Our ambition is to become truly AI-native, where AI is embedded into how products are built, decisions are made, and value is delivered. In practice, this means embedding AI into core product workflows and decision-making, augmenting internal systems (e.g., developer productivity and support), and building agent-based systems that drive parts of the product experience.
As a Staff Software Architect, you’ll define and drive the architecture behind this shift, working hands-on with LLMs, agentic systems, and modern AI infrastructure to turn strategy into scalable solutions. You can be based anywhere in the EU.
We have engineering hubs in Lisbon, Tallinn, and Tartu, as well as offices across Europe (Berlin, London, Dublin, Riga). If you’re not located in one of these hubs or offices, we expect regular travel to stay closely connected with teams and leadership.
Your new adventure:
Define and drive Pipedrive’s architecture as we evolve into an AI-native platform Embedding AI into core product workflows (not just standalone features) Evolving the current architecture to support agentic systems Design scalable AI/ML systems, including LLM and agentic architectures Scaling LLM usage reliably and cost-effectively across multiple products Turn product strategy into robust, future-proof technical solutions Lead architectural alignment across teams through our Architecture Guild Partner closely with Product, Data, and Engineering leaders Drive hands-on experimentation and validate new approaches Ensure high standards across reliability, security, and scalability
What we're looking for:
You already work in an AI-native way, not just experimenting but delivering real impact Proven shift from basic or assisted AI usage to fully AI-native execution Experience driving AI adoption across a company, not just defining the strategy Hands-on experience with AI agents or similar systems in production Strong focus on execution and outcomes over pure leadership or delegation
Does this sound like you?
Experience at the Staff/Principal/Architect level in a SaaS or engineering-heavy environment Strong background in distributed systems and cloud-native architecture Experience with AI/ML platforms, LLMs, and modern data infrastructure Track record of building scalable systems and driving adoption Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work across teams Strong communication skills in English
