Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Engineering Manager role sits in a core platform area that many SaaS and subscription businesses depend on but rarely spotlight: the systems that move content and metadata reliably from ingestion through distribution. Within Spotify’s ecosystem, that work is foundational to downstream product experiences like playback, discovery, and partner integrations, and it operates at a scale where operational rigor becomes part of the product.
For a SaaS career, the value is in building repeatable leadership patterns around platform reliability and cross-team delivery. Managing a team responsible for high-throughput pipelines and distributed backend services develops instincts that transfer across SaaS contexts: defining technical direction under ambiguous requirements, improving observability and resilience, and aligning multiple internal “customers” on interfaces and service expectations.
This role tends to suit an engineering leader who prefers enabling other teams through strong platform primitives rather than owning a single end-user feature surface. It also fits someone comfortable translating product and partner needs into durable backend architecture, and who enjoys coaching engineers while navigating complex dependencies across an organization.

Job Description
Delivering the best Spotify experience possible. To as many people as possible. In as many moments as possible. That’s what the Experience Mission is all about. We use our deep understanding of consumer expectations to enrich the lives of millions of users around the world, bringing the music, audio, and video they love to the devices, apps, and platforms they use every day.
The Content Platform team powers the full lifecycle of content across music, podcasts, audiobooks, and emerging formats. We make sure that everything—from licensed tracks to creator submissions and user-generated content—is delivered in a way that’s trusted, safe, and high quality at global scale. Our work sits at the heart of Spotify’s ecosystem, shaping how content is ingested, understood, governed, and distributed.
We’re seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on delivering content across Spotify’s ecosystem—ensuring that metadata and media flow efficiently and reliably from a wide range of internal systems to our apps and partner platforms. This work underpins every play, recommendation, and interaction, requiring systems that are scalable, observable, and resilient.
