Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Staff Full Stack Engineer role sits at the intersection of vertical SaaS and enterprise workflow modernization, focused on the infrastructure behind insurance claims. In SaaS terms, it is product work that must operate inside regulated, high-stakes customer environments, where reliability and data integrity matter as much as feature velocity. The emphasis on both claimant-facing experiences and ML-influenced decisioning reflects a platform that spans UX, core systems, and operational tooling rather than a single-purpose app.
For a SaaS career, the notable value is breadth with senior-level leverage. Building across APIs, data models, and frontend surfaces develops the kind of end-to-end product engineering judgment that transfers well across B2B platforms. The remit also points to experience in translating product concepts into shipped capabilities, plus the architectural tradeoffs that emerge as a platform supports larger customers and higher throughput.
This listing is best suited to an engineer who prefers owning outcomes across the stack and contributing to technical direction without stepping away from hands-on delivery. It will fit someone comfortable partnering closely with product and design, and who enjoys raising engineering standards through mentoring and pragmatic platform improvements.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance. Claims processing (i.e. should we pay this claim?), while often overlooked, is the foundation of the entire industry. It’s currently highly manual, involving phone calls, faxes, and gut instinct, costing tens of billions of dollars a year. We can do better.
At Assured, we provide large insurers with the software solutions they need to win in a modern, technology-driven world. From self-service claim-filing software to backend fraud detection, we’re the engine that powers claims processing for some of the largest insurers in the world.
The challenges we face are deep and diverse, from creating digital experiences that provide comfort and clarity to claimants at their most stressed and vulnerable to orchestrating large-scale ML-driven decision-making on billions of dollars of claims payments, life at Assured is dynamic, collaborative, and rewarding.
We’re looking for an experienced Staff Full Stack Engineer to help shape and scale our B2B SaaS platform. As a technical contributor, you’ll build across the stack, designing systems, delivering customer-facing features, and driving platform-wide improvements that enable us to move faster and smarter as we grow.
You’ll play a key role in defining our technical direction, mentoring other engineers, and helping translate product ideas into intuitive, performant experiences. This role is perfect for someone who loves working end-to-end, from data models to pixels, and wants to have a meaningful impact on product and architecture alike.
What You’ll Do
🛠️ Work across the stack, from backend APIs and infrastructure to frontend interfaces, launching and iterating on core product features.
👩💻 Write and ship production-grade code that balances speed, quality, and scalability.
🗣️ Collaborate with product and design to translate ideas and feedback into polished, user-centered experiences.
🤝 Lead and mentor other engineers, sharing knowledge and elevating the team’s technical bar.
🧠 Own the full lifecycle of features, from concept to mockup to deployment and iteration.
⚙️ Contribute to architecture and process decisions that improve developer velocity and system reliability.
What You Bring
📅 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience (preferably in SaaS or large-scale web applications).
✨ Proven experience designing and building complex, performant, and reliable systems end-to-end.
🎨 Strong product and design sensibility, you care about user experience and product polish as much as backend scalability.
💬 Collaborative mindset, you thrive in cross-functional environments and enjoy working closely with product, design, and engineering peers.
❌ Not required: Specific framework or stack experience. We value adaptability and problem-solving over tools.
Our current stack includes: Node.js (TypeScript), Docker, PostgreSQL on the backend, and React (TypeScript) on the frontend.
Benefits:
🤑 Competitive Compensation: Competitive salary and equity packages for all employees
🏥 Healthcare Plan: Platinum medical, dental, and vision
🛡️ Free life insurance: Including long-term disability & short-term disability
🏄 Unlimited PTO: Uncapped vacation days & paid holidays

🏠 WFH Benefits: Lunch on us 2x/week, monthly phone stipend & other home office perks
👪 Health FSAs & HSAs: Pre-tax accounts for out-of-pocket medical expenses
