Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Infrastructure reliability is a core differentiator in SaaS, and this Infrastructure Engineer II role sits directly in that value chain. The remit spans global on premises datacenters with hybrid cloud connectivity, reflecting a SaaS operator that still runs meaningful physical infrastructure alongside cloud services. For professionals tracking how modern SaaS platforms balance cost, control, and resilience, the scope here is a clear signal of production maturity and operational complexity.
From a career standpoint, the role builds durable SaaS operations experience: incident ownership tied to a defined uptime target, repeatable diagnostics, and change management through planned maintenances. It also leans into the less visible work that strongly shapes SaaS outcomes, such as capacity planning for storage, lifecycle management of hardware platforms, and observability across mixed environments. Leading medium to large infrastructure projects and managing vendors further strengthens the cross functional coordination skills that translate across many SaaS technical operations and SRE adjacent paths.
This position suits an engineer who prefers hands on systems and datacenter work, enjoys being an escalation point, and is comfortable with on call responsibility. It will fit someone at a mid level stage who can operate independently, document clearly, and collaborate across engineering, operations, and external providers, including periodic travel and a non standard work week.
