Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Government affairs roles are increasingly central in the SaaS ecosystem as regulation shapes how subscription platforms operate across markets. With this position anchored in Brussels, it sits close to EU institutions that set the rules on platform governance, consumer protection, and wider tech policy, all of which directly influence SaaS product decisions and go to market constraints.
For a SaaS career, the long-term value comes from learning how external policy developments translate into internal priorities. The remit implies regular coordination with legal, compliance, communications, licensing, and trust and safety, giving broad exposure to how SaaS companies manage risk, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory change. Experience building advocacy strategies and partnerships also transfers well across SaaS businesses that operate internationally and need consistent approaches to public policy.
This role tends to suit professionals who enjoy synthesising complex policy topics and turning them into clear guidance for internal partners. It also fits someone comfortable representing a platform business with a range of external stakeholders, from policymakers to civil society. The hybrid Brussels setup signals a preference for candidates who value in person engagement while working across time zones and functions.
