Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Director, Tax role stands out in the SaaS landscape because it sits at the intersection of subscription revenue, global expansion, and product driven billing complexity. The remit spans both direct and indirect tax, including telecom specific considerations, which are recurring pressure points for SaaS companies operating across jurisdictions and selling usage based services at scale. Positioned within the CFO organization, the role is designed to translate technical tax positions into operational guidance that holds up across Finance, Legal, Product, Billing, and Operations.
From a SaaS career perspective, the long term value is the chance to build repeatable tax systems that can keep pace with new markets, new product packaging, and evolving reporting expectations. Ownership of provision work, audits, transfer pricing documentation, and SOX readiness creates a broad control and governance toolkit that transfers well across public tech environments. The emphasis on scalable processes and tooling also reflects how modern SaaS finance functions mature beyond compliance into enablement.
This role best fits a senior tax leader who prefers being both strategic and hands on, and who is comfortable influencing cross functional stakeholders without relying on formal authority. It will suit someone who enjoys ambiguity around expansion and systems change, and who wants accountability for outcomes rather than a narrow advisory mandate.
