Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Software Engineer role sits at a core layer of modern SaaS: the analytics platform that converts high volume product telemetry into data products other teams can build on. Genesys operates a mature, global cloud offering, and the listing signals the kind of production reality that defines enterprise SaaS analytics, including multi tenant scale, heavy event streaming, and operational ownership in AWS.
From a SaaS career perspective, the work maps closely to skills that travel across platform companies: designing reliable ingestion and query paths, curating datasets as internal products, and balancing performance, cost, and availability under real customer load. The emphasis on turning ambiguous problems into dependable systems also reflects a common SaaS expectation for senior engineers to shape the “how” as well as the “what,” especially where data infrastructure underpins multiple product surfaces.
This is best suited to engineers who prefer systems thinking over ticket throughput and who are comfortable being accountable for services after deployment. It will appeal to those who like cross functional collaboration with product and data science, and who want their technical choices to influence platform direction, not just individual features.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
Be the one building AI-powered experiences where they matter most.
At Genesys, we help organizations create better customer experiences through AI-powered experience orchestration. Our platform connects people, systems, data and AI to help organizations deliver more personalized service, improve operational efficiency and build stronger customer relationships.
Help build, support and operate technology used by more than 8,000 organizations in over 100 countries – moving AI from possibility to production in real-world enterprise environments every day.
The Genesys Cloud Analytics platform turns massive event streams into decisions that shape customer experience — for our customers and theirs. We process tens of millions of events every day across terabytes of data, building the pipelines, datasets, and services that power product teams, business insights, and end-user analytics.
In this role, you’llwork with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to build andoperatebig data products at scale. We’relooking for a strong engineer who turns ambiguous problems into reliable systems — someone comfortable in the unknown, creative in how they solve it, and pragmatic about what ships to production. Our team operationalizes analytics products, curates high-value datasets for the wider organization, and builds the tools and services that keep the platform growing in scope, reliability, and performance.
Build the platform.Design and shiphighly available, fault-tolerant services that improve how analytics is ingested, processed, stored, queried, and delivered.
Own the full data lifecycle. From streaming ingestion to structured and unstructured storage, search, and aggregation —you’llengineer systems that scale with real-world usage.
Operate atglobal scale.Deploy, automate, andmaintainlarge AWS deployments with reliability, performance, and efficiency in mind.
Turn ideas into products.Partner across teams to shape concepts into requirements, and requirements into tools and services others can depend on.
Raise the bar around you.Review code, mentor peers, share best practices, and help other teams solve platform pain points before they become production issues.
Fix what breaks — and preventwhat’snext.Troubleshoot production incidents with urgency and judgment, using AI-assisted workflows to move faster from symptom to root cause without giving up ownership.
This may be the perfect job for you if:
Thinkinsystems, not tickets. You enjoy taking ambiguous problems and turning them into well-designed, scalable solutions.
Build for the long run.Maintainability, observability, automation, and testing are part of how you engineer software.
Care about impact. You want to build products that customers and internal teams rely on every day.
Solve problems creatively. You use modern tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to accelerate development and troubleshooting while taking full ownership of the final solution.
Enjoy collaborating. You partner effectively with engineers, product managers, and data teams to turn ideas into production-ready capabilities.
To be successful in this role, you'llbring:
5+ years of relevant industry experiencebuilding andoperatingscalable, production-grade software systems.
Strong Java development experience, including hands-on experience withSpring and Spring Bootfor building distributed, cloud-native applications and services.
Experience building and supporting data streaming solutions using Apache Kafka, with a solid understanding of event-driven architectures and real-time data processing.
Hands-on experience with Apache Druid and/or Apache Flinkfor large-scale analytics, stream processing, or time-series data platforms.
Practical cloud experience, ideally withAWS, including deploying, operating, and troubleshooting cloud-based services. Experience withGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP)orMicrosoft Azureis also welcomed.
Experience designing, building, andoperatinghighly available, scalable distributed systems with a focus on reliability, performance, and automation.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across engineering, product, and data teams to turn complex requirements into production-ready solutions.
Technologies we use and practices we hold dear:
Right tool for the right job over we-always-did-it-this-way.
We pick the language and frameworks best suited for specific problems. This usually translates to Java for developing services and applications and Python for tooling.
Ansible, CloudFormation, and Terraform for our infrastructure.
Infrastructure (and everything, really) as code.
Distributed microservices.
Automation for everything. CI/CD, testing, scaling, healing, etc.
Use AI tools thoughtfully in daily development and incident work — to accelerate, not to abdicate engineering responsibility.
Own your own tests — quality is engineered in, not inspected in later.
