Position Overview
This entry-level role is designed for a new college graduate who will develop core expertise in NAND flash device engineering while contributing to technology and product development within a cross-functional team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate NAND memory trim methodologies to improve flash memory performance, reliability, and product robustness for high-density storage applications.
- Work with NAND design, process integration, reliability, manufacturing, and product engineering teams to support technology and product development.
- Define and execute NAND flash memory performance and reliability tests; analyze results and communicate findings to cross-functional teams to support product and process improvements.
- Apply semiconductor device physics, Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, modeling, and automation to investigate device behavior and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support structured root-cause analysis and problem solving for technical issues affecting device performance, qualification, manufacturing readiness, and volume production ramp.
- Collaborate with engineering teams in Japan, international teams, and joint-development partner organizations, including Kioxia, to ensure timely device support and execution of development milestones.
- Build technical capability through hands-on learning, technical reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing with experienced engineers.
資格
REQUIRED
- M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or a related field. New college graduates are encouraged to apply; prior semiconductor industry experience is not required.
- Solid foundation in semiconductor device physics, semiconductor processes, reliability, Design of Experiments (DOE), and data analysis. Academic or research experience related to NAND flash memory devices or device physics is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret experimental data and communicate clear technical conclusions.
- Familiarity with scripting languages and/or statistical analysis tools. Experience using ML/AI for data analysis and modeling is a plus.
- Strong English communication skills are required. While Japanese proficiency is not required at the time of hire, candidates are expected to actively and independently learn Japanese and aim to achieve effective working-level communication in Japanese within approximately two years.
- The individual must be self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work effectively with people within and outside the immediate team.
