What we need

Dotmatics is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our Product team during an exciting period of innovation. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally to produce documentation that will support several products for a variety of audiences, including lab scientists, data managers, administrators, and developers. Additionally, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of a new online help centre platform.

This role requires an individual who thrives in a collaborative, dynamic environment with a passion for translating complex information into clear, concise, and well-organised content.

In this role you will get to

Write and edit user, administration, and configuration guides, as well as release notes and API documentation.
Collaborate with the Technical Writing team to improve documentation quality standards and processes.
Identify and implement strategies for scalable and efficient content development, delivery, and feedback/measurement.
Contribute to improving documentation processes, methodologies, styling, and tools.
Contribute to a healthy, thriving team culture that promotes creativity, inclusivity, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making.
Gain a deep understanding of Dotmatics products and services to create effective, intuitive, and polished documentation that aligns with our capabilities.
Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and subject matter experts in Product, Engineering, Services, and Customer Support to ensure alignment on requirements and scope.

We are looking for a person who has 5+ years of technical writing experience with at least 2 years of end user software documentation, combined with a strong understanding of data management, especially within the life sciences industry.

The key skills we are looking for:

Experience writing API and developer documentation.
Proficiency using XML-based authoring systems (Paligo or other CCMS tools are a plus), as well as SharePoint, Confluence, SnagIt and other common tech writing tools.
Fluency in structured authoring with focus on technical communication best practices. You have an eye for consistency, brevity, clarity, and readability.
Track record in successfully producing technical documentation for emerging products in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with content delivery with various types of documentation, across multiple products and versions, with effective search capabilities.
Experience working within an Agile software development lifecycle.
Working knowledge of documentation delivery practices and cloud-based web hosting platforms (for example, AWS).
Detail-oriented with a strong background in researching and communicating complex information for the appropriate audience.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of applying technical solutions to clear operational obstacles.
Ability to work well under pressure and can self-organize and prioritize to meet key deadlines.
Team player: you measure your own success based on the success of the team and the broader organization.
Ability to work independently and take initiative to meet deadlines and drive innovation.
