As a Business Development Representative, you play a pivotal role in driving our sales pipeline. With a strong focus on outbound prospecting, you proactively identify and engage high-potential prospects, while also managing inbound leads. As the first point of contact for current customers and prospects, you lay the foundation for meaningful sales conversations and long-term partnerships.

What we're looking for:- 2+ years of successful customer-facing experience, with a demonstrable track record in outbound sales, lead generation, or a related role.
- Possesses a solid understanding of the sales process and a proven ability to proactively identify prospect needs and articulate solutions effectively.
- Exhibits highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to: articulate value propositions clearly and persuasively across various channels (verbal, written, social), confidently engage and build rapport with prospects, and effectively navigate initial objections.
- Displays solid business acumen, understanding how businesses operate, their strategic priorities, and the direct impact of security solutions on their success and revenue generation.
- Proficient in utilizing a range of technology, including CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), sales engagement tools, and relevant business software to optimize outreach and track progress. Demonstrates the ability to quickly adopt and leverage new sales technologies.
- Highly resilient, self-driven, and consistently achieves and/or exceeds targets while thriving in a remote environment.
- Curious and actively seeks coaching to further refine sales techniques and product knowledge. Demonstrates a strong ability to apply feedback quickly and adapt strategies for continuous improvement.
What you can expect:- Proactively identify and engage prospects through strategic outbound prospecting activities, including cold calling, email campaigns, and leveraging social selling techniques.
- Qualify inbound leads generated through marketing efforts, understanding their needs and determining their fit for our solutions.
- Conduct engaging conversations with prospects to understand their business challenges and effectively communicate the value of our offerings.
- Diligently research and gather information on target accounts to create strategies for outreach and maximize engagement.
- Created a qualified pipeline for Account Executives, ensuring a smooth transition in the sales process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities and prospect interactions within our CRM system to support reporting and pipeline visibility.
- Regularly collaborate with Account Executives and sales managers to prioritize outreach efforts, seek guidance on best practices, and refine approaches.
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly targets for qualified opportunities generated.
- Continuously learn about our products, services, and the market landscape to effectively communicate our value proposition.
- Utilize feedback and tools from coaching sessions to identify improvement areas in calls or emails, proactively refining outreach and objection-handling techniques.

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $61,000 USD and $83,000 USD and is commission-eligible. The role is also eligible for immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Our approach to remote work
We believe in the power of remote work, but we also recognize that some in-person connection with team members and customers is important to help us achieve our mission. While we are a remote-first company, occasional travel for in-person engagement will be a part of this role. This may include but is not limited to bi-annual department-wide offsites, quarterly department meetings and periodic customer events. These events will typically be held in varying locations across EMEA, Canada and/or the USA. In leadership roles, you can expect to travel once per month on average.
