We’re looking for an Engineering Manager who thrives on clarity, delivery, and urgency; someone who can turn ambition into actual ship dates. While our Tech Lead owns the architecture, you will own the sprint clock, the team’s alignment, and the follow-through.
If you’re an engineer turned operator, a leader who reads every task, challenges every estimate, and keeps people focused on the right things at the right time, we want to talk. You’ll keep the team fast, focused, and accountable; and when priorities slip, you’ll fix it.
What You’ll Own
- Project Management: Run sprint planning, daily stand-ups, release cadences, and the issue tracking. Ruthlessly prioritize. Tackle delays before they become problematic.
- Execution Leadership: Translate fuzzy goals into weekly targets. Track progress daily and re-plan in real time. Ship the right thing, on time, every time.
- People Management: Coach a small, senior team. Set a high bar; give direct feedback; unblock fast; keep energy high.
- Tactical Technical Support: This is not your regular priority, but you’ll contribute code when needed to unblock delivery.
- Founder Collaboration: Ideate shoulder-to-shoulder with the founders, after hours if the insight strikes. Map product vision into sprints and iterate at lightning speed.
Who You Are
- 6+ years writing production code (Python, TypeScript, or similar) and 3+ years leading delivery.
- Master planner: You organize sprint boards in your sleep.
- Relentless finisher: “Done” means in prod, users happy.
- Driver of excellence: You hold people (including yourself) to elite standards of quality, speed and attitude.
- All-in mindset: You don’t watch the clock and you expect the same from teammates. Evenings and weekends are fair game when the mission demands it.
- Collaborator: You work best with others, and make the team stronger.
- Clear, calm, direct communicator, especially when things go sideways.
- Bonus: fintech, payments, or startup-to-scale-up experience.
