About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Director of Attack Surface Management, AI Security, and Security Research to lead a strategic and multidisciplinary organization at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation. This executive-level role is responsible for developing and driving strategy across three critical domains: attack surface management, AI system security, and cutting-edge security research.
You will collaborate closely with the CISO, product and engineering leaders, senior business stakeholders, and CrowdStrike’s world-class cybersecurity teams to deliver industry-leading security capabilities that protect our business and advance the security of our customers.
This is a leader of leaders role, with two or more globally distributed teams reporting in. The successful candidate will blend visionary leadership with deep technical acumen and a hands-on approach to solving complex security challenges across emerging technologies, adversary behaviors, and digital environments.
What You’ll Do:
Attack Surface Management

Oversee continuous discovery, assessment, and mitigation of vulnerabilities across CrowdStrike’s expanding digital footprint
Build capabilities for continuous monitoring and risk prioritization, leveraging threat intelligence, automated tooling, and cross-team coordination
Stay abreast of evolving threat vectors and technologies, ensuring CrowdStrike’s defenses evolve with the adversary
AI Security
Design and implement security controls and threat modeling frameworks for AI/ML systems
Identify and mitigate emerging AI risks, including adversarial machine learning, model inversion, prompt injection, and data poisoning
Partner with engineering and data science teams to promote secure-by-design AI development practices
Drive CrowdStrike’s strategy on responsible and ethical AI security
Security Research
Lead a high-impact security research team focused on identifying new vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and defense innovations
Guide the development and validation of novel security tools, methodologies, and detection techniques
Mentor a team of researchers and foster a culture of technical excellence and innovation
Publish high-quality research to elevate CrowdStrike’s visibility and influence within the global security community
General Security Leadership
Manage and grow globally distributed teams of cyber defenders, AI security experts, and security researchers
Coordinate security incident response, including leading crisis communications and tabletop exercises with senior stakeholders
Act as an internal champion for CrowdStrike’s “Customer Zero” approach, integrating Falcon platform innovations into internal use
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across product, legal, compliance, and engineering to ensure security alignment at every level
Represent CrowdStrike externally via public speaking, thought leadership, and media engagements
What You’ll Need:
Proven experience leading large-scale global cybersecurity organizations, preferably with functions spanning threat detection, ASM, research, and/or AI security
Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and threat actor methodologies
Domain expertise in AI/ML security, including secure model development and adversarial defense techniques
Demonstrated experience in security research leadership, vulnerability discovery, or security tooling innovation
Strong business acumen and ability to translate technical concepts for executive and non-technical audiences
Ability to operate effectively in high-stress, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to influence at all levels of an organization
Bonus Points:
Experience with the CrowdStrike Falcon platform and contributing feedback as a customer or internal adopter
Deep knowledge of modern attack surfaces including cloud-native environments, SaaS, and supply chain ecosystems
Recognized contributor in the AI security or security research communities (e.g., publications, conference talks)
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or advanced degrees in cybersecurity or AI
