We are looking for a People Operations & Payroll Lead to join our People team and drive operational excellence across our global payroll and people processes. This is a key role reporting to the Head of People Operations & Total Rewards, and will coordinate the work of a distributed team across France and the US (currently 3 team members).
You will be a critical player in our mission to deliver seamless employee experiences and ensure compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement in all things payroll and people operations. You’ll bring a strong process mindset, operational rigor, and a collaborative leadership style to help elevate our global operations.

What you will do:- Own and optimize payroll operations across multiple countries France, UK, US and Canada), in partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Drive continuous improvement in payroll processes, systems, and reporting – identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable, compliant solutions.
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day People Operations activities across France and the US, ensuring alignment and consistent service delivery.
- Support the implementation and enhancement of HR systems (HiBob and Pigment App), processes, and documentation.
- Provide mentorship and operational guidance to the People Ops team, fostering a high-performing culture.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and HRBPs to ensure accurate data flows, timely processing, and statutory compliance across regions.
- Act as a key point of contact for audits, reporting, and controls related to payroll and related processes.
Who You Are:- Deep expertise (min 6+ years) in managing payroll operations, with hands-on experience running payroll in France, and at least 1 other geography (US / UK / Canada); multi-country payroll experience is a Must.
- Proven track record of ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and timeliness, including managing data flows, reconciliations, and vendor coordination.
- Strong understanding of local payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements—you know how to stay compliant and spot potential risks early.
- In-depth knowledge of system integrations across payroll, HR, and finance, and experience in driving transformative projects to streamline processes and workflows.
- A process improvement mindset – We value strong trouble shooting skills and a problem-solving mindset. You thrive on turning complex requirements into elegant, maintainable solutions and are eager to deliver value to end users.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-collaboration skills and experience partnering with multiple functions (Ops, Finance, Legal, GTM, etc.)
- Comfortable in operating in an evolving, fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
