Overview
Reporting to the Product Operations Manager, our Technical Writer will own and transform our customer-facing knowledge base, leveraging AI tools to work at scale while establishing the governance and quality standards that enable cross-functional teams to contribute effectively.
What you will do
- Own knowledge base quality, consistency, and governance by establishing content standards, review processes, and editorial decisions about what gets published
- Leverage AI tools extensively for content creation, optimization, and maintenance to work at scale, while continuously evaluating new tools to increase efficiency
- Proactively monitor and improve content accuracy through regular audits, AI Q&A tool management, and tracking integration partner changes (partnering with Engineering to establish monitoring systems as needed)
- Own public-facing changelog and release communications, partnering with Product Managers to create client-facing documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Support, Marketing, and Customer Success to identify documentation gaps, establish brand guidelines, and coordinate content initiatives while maintaining quality standards
Requirements
What you need
- 3-5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in SaaS or B2B software environments
- Demonstrated fluency with AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude—you've used them extensively in your work and can show examples of how they've transformed your workflow and output
- Strong problem-solving abilities with high autonomy—you identify and address issues proactively without waiting for direction
- Experience establishing content governance and standards from the ground up
- Track record of building effective documentation systems, with examples of approaches and processes you can adapt to our needs
- Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them effectively for various audiences
- Excellent judgment regarding content quality, brand consistency, and client needs, with comfort making decisions without extensive approval chains
Nice to have
- Experience with API documentation and monitoring integration changes
- Familiarity with knowledge management platforms like Guru, Notion, Zendesk, or similar tools
- Background working cross-functionally in product-led organizations
- Experience with screenshot tools like Scribe or Snagit
- Examples of documentation systems or processes you've built from scratch
