Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Data Governance Intern to provide essential support to our Data Governance team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a critical and fast-growing field. You will play a key role in the deployment of data governance initiatives and in the preparation for critical data reviews, helping to shape our data maturity.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Operationalizing Data Governance Policies: Actively participate in the application and tracking of data certifications to enhance data quality and reliability.
- Facilitating Stakeholder Communication: Support data owners by facilitating communication and sending reminders regarding their data stewardship responsibilities.
- Preparing for Data Reviews: Gather and organize necessary documentation for data domain owners' semester reviews. This includes contributing to the creation of dashboards that illustrate compliance levels and developing presentation slides with key metrics.
- Establishing Performance Metrics: Support the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of our data governance initiatives and assist in the creation of dashboards to visualize progress.
For interns who demonstrate advanced capabilities and a proactive approach, there will be an opportunity to lead an end-to-end project, which could include:
- Designing a new data governance process for a specific internal rule.
- Assisting in the implementation of automated checks.
- Defining and measuring the impact of the new process.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field).
- A strong interest in data governance, data management, or data quality.
- Basic understanding of data concepts, including data lineage and metadata.
- Familiarity with dashboarding tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and organized approach with strong attention to detail.

- Working hours: 40 hours per week
- Office attendance is expected
