Overview:
The Precisely Spatial Analytics Team builds software and solutions that help organizations unlock insights from location and spatial data. As an Associate Product Owner on this team, you will be responsible for translating customer and market needs into actionable backlog items, working closely with Product Managers, engineers, and designers to deliver features that power spatial analytics applications such as MapInfo Pro, Spectrum Spatial Analyst, and related SaaS offerings.
You’ll act as the day-to-day connection between the product vision and the scrum team, ensuring that features deliver real value for customers in industries like retail, insurance, telecom, and financial services. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about location intelligence, thrives in Agile environments, and wants to bridge customer needs with technical execution.
What you will do:
- Partner with Product Managers to understand spatial analytics and visualization use cases, industry trends, and customer workflows, then translate them into clear requirements and user stories.
- Prioritize and maintain the product backlog for spatial analytics and business mapping applications.
- Work with engineering to refine requirements, establish acceptance criteria, and ensure successful sprint delivery.
- Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups to support the development team.
- Demonstrate completed functionality to stakeholders and gather feedback for iteration.
- Support triage of enhancement requests, customer issues, and market-driven opportunities.
- Assist in defining release goals and help ensure smooth delivery of new spatial analytics application capabilities.
- Act as a subject matter contributor for internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment across engineering, support, and go-to-market teams.
What we are looking for:
- 2–4 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in Agile software development.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology and backlog management.
- Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field is a must.
- Familiarity with spatial data, GIS concepts, or location intelligence workflows (e.g., geocoding, drive-time analysis, territory management, spatial joins) is preferred.
- Experience with SaaS software delivery is a must.
- Exposure to enterprise geospatial software such as MapInfo, Esri, QGIS, or cloud-based location intelligence platforms will be an added advantage.
