If you thrive in ambiguity, push for excellence, and want to help shape the future of work alongside others who raise the bar, we invite you to build with us.
At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.
Role Overview
You’ll be the first People team member in Sydney — building Harvey’s People presence in Australia from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape what our culture feels like, how we show up as an employer, and how our teams stay connected across regions.
As the People Partner Generalist, you’ll lead all things People for our Sydney team — owning the local employee experience, supporting day-to-day People needs, and making sure our office runs smoothly. You’ll partner closely with our global People team (based in the US and EMEA) to adapt programs for the Australian market and ensure our People practices feel both consistent and locally relevant.
This is a foundational role with real breadth and impact. Some days you’ll be running performance or engagement cycles; other days, you’ll be welcoming new hires, coordinating with Workplace and IT, or helping navigate a sensitive employee moment. You’ll move fast, stay organized, and bring a mix of polish, warmth, and pragmatism to everything you do.
You’ll report to Harvey’s Head of People Business Partners and work closely with our Sydney office leader to create a People experience that reflects Harvey’s ambition, care, and high standards.
What You’ll Do
Be the People anchor in Sydney. Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers; approachable, trusted, and calm under pressure. Build trust quickly, help people navigate questions and challenges, and empower them to find answers independently when possible.
Run core People programs locally. Drive timelines, logistics, and coordination for performance reviews, compensation cycles, engagement surveys, and other global initiatives. Adapt programs thoughtfully for the Australian context and surface insights back to the global team.
Partner with People Business Partners. Execute on local pieces of global initiatives, from promotion cycles to org changes, and turn strategy into action with precision and follow-through.
Welcome new team members. Partner with the global onboarding team to make every new hire’s first 90 days seamless, setting up their workspace, connecting them to the team, and helping them feel part of Harvey from day one.
Build local culture. Create moments of connection and belonging through team rituals, events, and celebrations that make Harvey in Sydney feel distinct but deeply tied to our global culture.
Keep the office running smoothly. Work closely with Global Workplace and IT teams and act as the point person on the ground to make the Sydney office a great place to work—equipped, organized, and energizing.
Handle sensitive matters with care. Support employee relations issues with empathy and judgment, ensuring accurate documentation and alignment with Australian employment standards.
Build what doesn’t exist yet. Document local People processes as you go, identify gaps before they become pain points, and create systems that will scale as our Sydney team grows.
