Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Engineering Manager role sits at the intersection of SaaS product delivery and platform evolution, leading a mortgage verifications domain within the Truework product at Checkr. The remit spans new customer-facing experiences as well as foundational work on architecture and systems, a combination that is common in mature SaaS organisations extending a proven platform into new product chapters. The emphasis on scale and downstream impact signals a team operating on core workflows rather than peripheral tooling.
From a SaaS career standpoint, the role offers durable management experience in balancing feature throughput with technical debt, reliability, and long-term system design. Close partnership with product management and stakeholders reflects the operating model in subscription businesses where roadmap decisions, quality incidents, and customer outcomes are tightly linked. Exposure to regulated-product nuances also builds a transferable toolkit for SaaS environments that must align engineering execution with compliance, risk, and data considerations.
This position is best suited to an experienced people leader who enjoys setting technical direction while staying close to delivery details. It fits someone comfortable representing a team in planning forums, making prioritisation calls, and developing engineers through coaching and hiring. Interest in operating at platform scale—and in the accountability that comes with high-impact verification workflows—will align well with the day-to-day.
