Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Solutions Engineer role sits at a common SaaS inflection point: bridging product capability and revenue outcomes through technical storytelling. In an education SaaS context, the work spans both workflow design and credible technical evaluation, with frequent exposure to how districts assess platforms, integrations, and implementation risk. The remote setup paired with significant travel also reflects how SaaS vendors support enterprise-style buying cycles in regulated, stakeholder-heavy markets.
From a SaaS career perspective, the position builds durable pre-sales strengths: translating product features into outcomes, running structured evaluations, and shaping demos that map to customer processes rather than generic scripts. It also creates a feedback loop into product via “front-line” insights—useful experience for later moves into product, solutions architecture, sales leadership, or enablement. Experience responding to RFIs/RFPs adds another transferable lever for SaaS roles selling into formal procurement environments.
This is best suited to someone who enjoys being a cross-functional connector—working closely with Account Executives while maintaining technical credibility with IT stakeholders. It will fit professionals who like preparing materials, coaching peers, and staying current on domain and policy changes, and who are comfortable balancing remote work with on-site customer engagement.
